If Macasskill let the Lockerbie bomber out to help a BP oil deal, will the UK not Scotland be blamed?

Everyone has jumped up and down in the USA blaming Scotland for the mass murderer's release, based on the word of one doctor, contrary to the opinion of others, that he had less than three months to live, even talked of boycotting Scottish made goods, etc. As I suspected all along, it was London, not Edinburgh behind this, Scotland has all the oil it needs in the North Sea, they don't need Libya's oil. Whatever the subject, it's always either to the credit of the UK or the shame of Scotland. Scotland has been the scapegoat long enough, it is time credit was given where due for Macasskill's decision. Perhaps everyday past his three months he lives, one doctor should sit in his jail cell, as an example to any other physician willing to lie to get mass murderers out of prison. This is one reason capital punishment is looked favorable upon, not for vengeance, but to make sure killers never plot from within or set foot outside prison wallls again, to protect the public and the witnesses that help solve the crimes. Knowing killers are going to only be put away five, ten or twenty years makes people less reluctant to testify against them. Back to the point, will public opinion stop condemning Scotland and put the blame on the UK, London, for the bomber's release? And should they build a new memorial in Lockerbie, that looks like an oil rig?If Macasskill let the Lockerbie bomber out to help a BP oil deal, will the UK not Scotland be blamed?
@consrgreat

Which IRA Prisoners would these be, they were all released anyway under the terms of the 'Good Friday Agreement', and as well as fund raising for the IRA, the Americans didn't extradite a single IRA Terrorist despite repeated pleas from Britain.

If you are not happy, then I suggest you withdraw your military bases from Britain in protest, in fact we can give you a hand packing like the French did when they told you to get out in the 1960's.If Macasskill let the Lockerbie bomber out to help a BP oil deal, will the UK not Scotland be blamed?
Lets even the score and release the IRA terrorists we have in jail here....on grounds of compassion...
Well said. The cat was out of the bag when Gaddafi thanked the British government for the release.
First off - this guy is almost dead.

Second off - I read there were SERIOUS questions about his conviction - and there was a very real chance he was going to be let go anyway due to his conviction being overturned. So the government released him on these ';humanitarian'; grounds to avoid the embarrassment of admitting they had the wrong guy in jail all these years.
