BP is the 3rd largest oil co in the world and responsible for raising oil px, ok Palin's hubby works for them?

BP has also been criticized for the increase in fuel prices in the UK. On April 25, 2005 Lord Browne stated in an interview with the BBC that he fully expected petrol prices to stay above 拢1 per litre.[47]

In July 2006, a group of Colombian farmers won a multi million pound settlement from BP after the British oil and gas company was accused of benefiting from a regime of terror carried out by Colombian government paramilitaries to protect a 450-mile (720 km) pipeline. [48]

Sarah Palin's husband has been working for BP (formerly known as British Petroleum and the third largest oil company in the world) since 1989. His job also includes lobbying to increase oil prices (per wikipedia). He recently took a leave of absence so as not to associate his wife with big oil ties while running for office, pretending to be nothing more than an Eskimo. Do you have any probs with this (and I am not a supporter of Obooboo so plz no OB comments I'm nauseated by them).

BP is the 3rd largest oil co in the world and responsible for raising oil px, ok Palin's hubby works for them?
Figures. Way to go McCain.

Now he's SURE to lose.BP is the 3rd largest oil co in the world and responsible for raising oil px, ok Palin's hubby works for them?
Yes, it is a concern. I feel the oil industry controls too much influence in our government, particularly with Republicans. This fact makes me question Sarah Palin's objectivity. I'm afraid she will take the wrong side when the interests of the American people come in conflict with the interests of the oil industry.
As Osama Obama woulds say, there's no room for a woman in politics. He didn't like Hillary the MOST Qualified but he chose a Good Old Boy like himself.

Maybe her husband is pretending to be an eskimo but at least he's not pretending to be JFK,MLK and whoever else he can copy because he can't come up with something on his own.

He's all sizzle and No steak..........
Sounds like a typical Republican to me, which is why I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH REPUBLICANS.

DEMOCRAT. OBAMA.

BTW, if you don't want to hear people's 2 cents, don't post questions. That's common sense.

What makes you think anyone wants to hear your 2 cents?
so what! should he be unemployed like the rest of your liberal friends? maybe the oil companies are large employers in the state of alaska. should michelle obama be ashamed of her $300,000 job. i think not.
You should be insulted - everything about Palin's nomination insults the intelligence of the electorate. It's as though McCain believes all it takes to be another Hillary is breasts.
no support. gas prices are fluctuating way to much. It is just people can not get together and fight the cause.

Everyone is too damn lazy to change it.
A production worker, not a CEO. Palin took the oil company down...

Do you always trust the wikipedia?

She told us sh took on big oil because gas is $4.00 + per gallon. You need to listen to the candidate and get off the radical web sites.
Democrats are against drilling for more oil.

The reason why gas prices are high is because Bill Clinton cut backroom deals with China (Fact).
Whats wrong with oil? How else do you think your coke gets to your nose? It has to be flown or driven in by cars that use oil cupcake.
I thought associations didn't matter to liberals, neither Wright, Rezko, or Ayers seemed to matter
Yeah as a production worker. A far cry from the board room making policy. Talk about grasping at straws. You get today's award for the furthest reach.
You forgot to mention that she describes her husband as a ';proud union member.';

I have no problem with Governor Palin, nor her husbands past employment as long as it was legal.
A lot of Alaskan's work for the oil industry. If nobody did, your car wouldn't run! Not wasting any time going after family, are we?
good thing he makes fuel for obamas gas guzzling suv caravans and private jets
and that is why we should vote for obama

the only reason he picked her was out of desperation to try to get some clinton voters
the man is an oil field worker, not the president of the company you idiot so who cares?
Nope. We all work for someone.

He's also a commercial fisherman.

I suppose that cost them the aquatic vote.
It's not even an American company. She works for EU
What a successful business man as husband to the vice president?

why would that be a problem?
He is a union member.
I smell a connection to the Bush and Chaney Familes
McCain /Palin 08

That is how i feel about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
... and her father's cousin's brother's ex room mate is a democrat.

I sure hope that doesn't come to haunt her!
OK no Obama comments, just the facts.

WAKE UP AMERICA

Americans need to get out of this sexist/racist ostrich head burying trip and start thinking about the future of this country. We can not survive on this planet alone. George bush has made us more isolated and less secure than we have been since the colonies told England to shove it. We are in Iraq virtually alone because it is wrong, period.

Everyone continues to give Ronald Reagan credit for the break up of the Soviet Union. In reality the reason it failed was the cost of the soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Russia went broke, period. not pressure from the US, or Ronald Regan's cute little speech ';Gorbachev tear down this wall...'; and with 10 billion a month spent on Iraq and record debt to China (communist China by the way) to pay for oil from Saudi Arabia, Iran and Venezuela (countries who's leaders hate us) remember George Bush went to Saudi Arabia to beg for more oil and they laughed in his face. America is broke!

I don't have any children, I am above the draft age and married to a foreigner; I've got somewhere to go, the rest of you better wake up, before John McCain gets elected and finishes the destruction of this country that George bush started. By the way the inflation rate is the highest it's been in 17 years, guess who was president then? George Bush Senior.

As for John McCain鈥檚 choice of VP, it is another case of poor judgment. The choice of Gov. Palin is very disturbing to me; Alaska鈥檚 2005 gross state product was $39.9 billion as compared to Chicago鈥檚 approximately $442 billion according to 2007 estimates. Chicago has also been rated as having the most balanced economy in the United States, due to its high level of diversification.

The oil and gas industry dominates the Alaskan economy, with more than 80% of the state's revenues derived from petroleum extraction. To finance state government operations, Alaska depends primarily on petroleum revenues. It is clear to me that she is in the pocket of the oil companies. There are less than 700,000 people in Alaska (less than the population of Chicago 2,833,321) with less than 30% of voting age, so between the oil revenue and minimal population, what governing experience does she have. She was not elected Governor, she was appointed by the oil companies. She can no more put Americans first than John McCain or George Bush has. 4 more years of the same.

You , my friend, are posting crap.

This was run by Talis J. Colberg, Attorney General for Alaska, on Feb 7, 2007, when her husband was returning to BP. It was determined

that his taking this job would not be a conflict of interest, as he was not in management. Her husband has not pretended to be anything other than what he is. Everything is above board with the attorney General of Alaska. Geez! Give it up! You people are grasping at straws.

Sarah Palin just put The Republicans in The White House. This gal has got it all, including the only experience in governing. Obama has zero experience. Biden has zero experience. McCain has zero experience, but Sarah has governed a state. They have been saying that she has more decisions to make in one week than the average Senator has in one year.

No way! No how! Bye Obama!

McCain/Palin 08
I don't have a problem for who her husband works for. I think it is a political liability for Sara given she has raised taxes on the oil industry. This will place her in direct conflict with McCain who recently flip-flop his off shore oil drilling stance and got almost 2 million in campaign contributions from the big oil lobbies.

';Relying heavily on Democratic votes, she won approval last month to boost taxes on oil company profits from 22.5% to 25%. That could bring in an additional $1.6 billion annually for the state.';

This VP selection will not sit well with the oil partnerships that Bush and Cheney has. It should be a very interesting Republican Convention.
And so it starts. 12 hours ago no one here even new who this woman was and now you are all experts. Welcome to politics, American style.

Here's the plan. We won't even discuss her political platform or her views. We'll just go straight to attacking her for her husbands job choice and the fact that she should be at home with her children. Okay?

Give the woman some credit. She has probably done more for her country in the few years that she has been in public office than most of you will do in a lifetime standing on the sidelines. Want to do something worthwhile? Try contributing instead of criticizing.
